Tufts Community Day is an annual Tufts tradition, celebrating arts, innovation and community. Our campus neighbors are invited to join us on our Medford/Somerville campus, along with community partners, students, staff, and faculty for a day of live entertainment, family friendly activities, and free food.

Tufts Community Day is an annual Tufts tradition, celebrating arts, innovation and community. Our campus neighbors are invited to join us on our Medford/Somerville campus, along with community partners, students, staff, and faculty for a day of live entertainment, family friendly activities, and free food.

Join neighbors, families, and friends for Tufts Community Day on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Academic Quad (labeled as "The Green" in Google maps) of the Medford/Somerville campus. Enjoy such activities as:

  • Live performances: song, dance, music, and theater!
  • Children’s activities including, crafts, STEM, portrait artists, jumbo lawn games
  • Medford and Somerville community groups and resources
  • Research projects by Tufts University faculty
  • Free Raffle to local restaurants and small businesses
  • Free food and refreshments (while supplies last!)

All activities are free and open to the public

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine hosts a resource table at Tufts Community Day.

Participating

Interested in participating at Tufts Community Day by tabling? We welcome non-profits and municipal resource from Medford and Somerville. We also welcome Tufts student clubs, academic departments, faculty, and other Tufts organizations to participate!  

If you are interested in hosting an activity or resource table, please fill out this registration form as soon as possible. There is limited space and slots fill up quickly.

Please note that campaigning, fundraising, and commercial/retail activity are not permitted.

Tufts students volunteer at Tufts Community Day

Student Volunteers

Are you a Tufts students interested in meeting your campus neighbors from Medford and Somerville? Would you like to spend a fun day with friends volunteering and celebrating Tufts? If so, learn more and register to be a student event volunteer to help set up, greet neighbors, assist with arts & crafts, games, activities and more. All volunteers are encouraged to attend one brief training prior to Community Day.

FAQ's

  • Free parking is available from 9am-5pm in any available space on the main Medford/Somerville campus.

    Free parking will also be available in the Tufts Dowling Parking Garage. Enter the garage at 419 Boston Avenue, Medford. Take the Garage Elevators to the 7th floor and exit at the footbridge to the Academic Quad (also known as The Green). You can follow signs and balloon marking the footbridge and path to the Green. 

  • The event will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather. Cancellation information can be found here on our Community Day website: cday.tufts.edu.
