Tufts is an economic engine and catalyst for local growth through employment, financial aid, visitor spending, property taxes, voluntary contributions, research funding, and partnerships.

A Somerville Public School teacher visits the Albert F. Argenziano School for COVID testing. Tufts partnered with Medford and Somerville to create one of the state’s first public school pooled testing programs.

Safer Together

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tufts offered support, resources, expertise, and knowledge from the earliest days, taking every opportunity to keep its neighbors safe and healthy.

Driven by our shared dedication to civic engagement, thousands of Tufts students, faculty, and staff contribute time and money to local community organizations and nonprofits.

Healthier Together

Students, faculty, and staff from across the health sciences provide free medical care, health education, and nutrition programming for our neighbors every year.

Young people in nearby communities know Tufts well because so many of our students volunteer with youth-serving organizations and campus community programs like Kids’ Day, Traveling Treasure Trunk, DREAM, Best Buddies, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Learning Together

Tufts works to ensure that children have access to educational opportunities that inspire them through community partnerships, vibrant local events, and perks for neighboring residents.
